Mozilla Building Android Based Mobile OS to Rival Chrome/Android

26 July 2011 by John, No Comments

Seems a little odd but it’s my impression that we have both band wagon jumping and an anti-Google attitude. Google might well have created a monster in Android, but I would much rather see Mozilla putting effort into making the Google OS better rather than splintering the concept. http://phandroid.com/2011/07/26/mozilla-building-android-based-mobile-os-to-rival-chromeandroid/

HTC Flyer: Over Priced

25 April 2011 by John, No Comments

I’m not the only one to think HTC need to drop their prices for the Flyer tablet… http://www.eurodroid.com/2011/04/htc-flyer-to-get-android-3-0-shortly-after-launch/ But at least it’s getting Honeycomb soon.

Fondle Slab Makers Need To Wake Up

19 April 2011 by John, No Comments

The tablet wars are hotting up with a seemingly tit for tat battle between Google and Apple. Over the past month we have seen disciples of the Jesus Pad take to the streets for the Second Coming, a new slimmed down panic reaction from Samsung in the form of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Viewsonic [...]

Android Tablets…the price is right?

24 February 2011 by John, 1 Comment

If the possible mountain of unsold Samsung Galaxy Tabs is anything to go by, I think manufacturers of Satan Powered fondle slabs (a.k.a. iPad for £99! Not really…

An iPad for just £99? Well….no. Not really.I wonder how many people desperate for tablet computers enter into mobile contracts unwittingly before realising that they are not getting much bang for their buck? And by that I mean just using their mobile tariff fully. I wonder what the 3G usage for tablet’s is nowadays? I [...]

Fantastic Froyo? Better Late Than Never

10 January 2011 by John, No Comments

T-mobile released the Google Android 2.2 a little over a month ago after much #tmobilefail shenanigans. But since then I’ve been mulling over whether it has made a big difference. I think it has generally but the odd habits you pick up from running 2.1 die hard. For example the reliance on using automatic task [...]

Feeling slow and bloated? Factory reset!

13 November 2010 by John, No Comments

Last week I tried jumping the gun and forcing a Froyo upgrade on my Samsung Galaxy S. It didn’t work but in the process I wiped my phone and started from scratch and what a difference that makes. Over the last couple of months I’ve had the phone I (as many do, no doubt) gradually [...]

Samsung Galaxy S – An Afflicted Review

10 August 2010 by John, No Comments

I went and did it. I fought the evil inside me. I spurned the iPhone like a paid up Lib Dem from the Coalition Government. I went…Android! And why not? They’ll only win in the end…so I got into bed with Google. As my previous post indicated, I was wrestling with whether the Samsung Galaxy [...]
